Stephen E. Killiany, Jr. grew up in the little town of Jessup, PA right outside of Scranton. As a young boy he had a passion for music and science. Along with pursuing music as a pianist, Stephen attended University of Scranton to study Chemistry where he obtained his Bachelors of Science. He furthered his education by completing an additional degree at St. Joseph’s Graduate School of Chemistry.

Stephen first worked with New Jersey Department of Health as an Industrial hygiene Chemist. From there he pursed a professional career that spanned 30 years as an Industrial Hygienist in the Oil Industry with Shell and then Exxon as a Senior Staff Industrial Hygienist.

Stephen believed that a person’s success is due to a strong loving family, hard work, and a solid education. He also led by example supporting many charities. Over their lifetime, He and his wife Elise donated to many educational institutes to help those in need.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, a daughter, son, grandson, and sister. It is the Killiany Family’s wish to continue his passion for education by offering an annual $5,000 scholarship in his name.
